With generous support from the Shanghai Commercial Bank, WWF-Hong Kong launched an organic farming programme at our Island House Conservation Studies Centre this year. This partnership reflects a shared vision to promote sustainable development, encourage responsible living and create a lasting positive impact on society and the environment.

The collaboration focuses on enhancing the efficiency and resilience of organic farming practices while ensuring that the farm contributes to the local ecosystem. By conducting continuous improvement activities – upgrading irrigation systems, optimising soil conditions and performing essential farming activities like planting, fertilising, harvesting, and weeding, the programme takes a holistic approach to sustainable agriculture.
The programme is also a vital platform for public education and engagement. Offering guided tours and experiential workshops for individuals and corporate groups, the initiative is spreading understanding of organic farming principles and showcasing the importance of smart farming and sustainable living. Participants also gain practical insights into how sustainable agricultural practices contribute to ecological balance and community wellbeing.
This collaboration with Shanghai Commercial Bank underscores the power of corporate partnerships in driving sustainability, and supporting a greener and more resilient future.
