Over the past year, WWF-Hong Kong partnered with stakeholders acrosssociety to advance climate-friendly lifestyle initiatives and sustainable living practices.

Promoting Sustainable Living

In October 2024, WWF-Hong Kong took part in Eco Expo Asia, an international platform uniting businesses across the environmental protection industry to inspire cross-sector collaboration. At our interactive Green Mart booth and hands-on public workshop, visitors explored how everyday choices can shape a sustainable future. The booth highlighted WWFHong Kong’s conservation and education initiatives, offering practical ideas for adopting climatefriendly lifestyles. Our workshop delved into how climate change, resource overconsumption and biodiversity loss connect to our daily habits – from what we eat and wear to how we travel. Participants were encouraged to rethink their routines and adopt a more balanced way of living. Each aspect of our participation underscored how building resilient, low-carbon cities begins with individual commitment and shared responsibility for our planet. labels and another six companies received LOOPPLUS awards. Carbon emissions dropped by a cumulative 241,396 tonnes of CO2-equivalent, down 37% from business-as-usual scenarios (2022-23); and there was an aggregate reduction of 321,540 tonnes of CO2-equivalent – a 44% drop compared to base year measurements.

Weaving Sustainability into Fashion

In November 2024, WWF-Hong Kong co-organised the Fashion Summit 2024. Gathering global designers, fashion industry leaders and sustainability advocates, the event explored a “Power Up Sustainable Fashion Business” theme through the lenses of circular fashion and eco-conscious apparel business models. The summit began with a conference at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, at which Karen Ho, our Head of Corporateand Community Sustainability, led a panel discussion on design innovation and conscious consumerism.

Three public fashion shows and the inaugural Fashion Summit Lifestyle Pop-up Shop at AIRSIDE’s GATE33 Gallery then showcased sustainable collections by emerging Hong Kong designers. Audiences got to experience sustainable fashion first-hand, reinforcing WWF’s commitment to transforming the fashion industry.

Raising Biodiversity Conservation Awareness

In May and June 2025, we co-organised the “Guardians of the Green” photo exhibition at the Hong Kong Central Library, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Belgium in Hong Kong and Macau, the Embassy of the Republic of Honduras to China, and the Leopold III Fund for Nature Exploration and Conservation. The exhibition featured evocative photographs by the late King Leopold III of Belgium, capturing the rich biodiversity of rainforests and the communities working to safeguard these vital ecosystems. The exhibition drew strong public interest, giving students, families and nature enthusiasts a better appreciation of rainforests.

We also hosted a business luncheon and panel discussion to engage corporate leaders on the private sector’s role in protecting nature. Moderated by our Executive Council Member Irene Chu, the dialogue featured Princess Esmeralda of Belgium, our Conservation Director Dr Bosco Chan and One Earth Alliance Chairman Professor Poman Lo. Princess Esmeralda highlighted the urgent need for sustainable sourcing, transparent supply chains and corporate responsibility.

Driving Decarbonisation and Supply Chain Transparency

WWF-Hong Kong’s business-focused climate resiliency programmes, LOOP+ and the Low Carbon Manufacturing Programme (LCMP), equip businesses with robust tools to measure, disclose and reduce their environmental impacts. These initiatives support companies in setting science-based emissions reduction targets, which enhances supply chain transparency and helps them identify inefficiencies in resource use. Both programmes foster cross-sector collaboration and long-term sustainability.

A key focus of the LCMP is supporting companies in decarbonising their Scope 3 supply chains, which can often form the largest share of a company’s carbon footprint. The LCMP improves data accuracy from suppliers, promotes sustainable procurement and logistics and fosters supplier engagement in developing best practices, renewable energy adoption and circular economy solutions. By strengthening the credibility of environmental data, the LCMP also reduces the risk of greenwashing and empowers consumers to make informed choices.

In FY25, six companies adopted the LOOP+ and 39 manufacturers participated in the LCMP. Nineteen companies earned LCMP labels and six received LOOP+ awards. Collectively, these efforts led to a 41% reduction (256,520 tonnes of CO₂e) from business-as-usual scenarios, and a 48% reduction (348,180 tonnes of CO₂e) compared to base year levels. This demonstrates significant progress in industrial decarbonisation and Scope 3 visibility.
